Educational Overview:

We are educating some of the brightest students across the country. What a student knows and how well they can communicate what they have learned through test taking skills, hands on activities and other academic achievement determines their growth and ability. The No Child left behind act calls forth accountability in students, parents, teachers, administrators and community members.

Our academic approach is simple! Teach the students and they will learn.

At the academy we will implement Study Island and Open Court. Both programs are statistically proven to enhance language instruction for diverse learners. We will also use Saxon which is an accredited math curriculum that repeats math objectives throughout the lessons resulting in student mastery. Additional subjects are Science, Social Studies, Spanish and Technology. As educators we develop lessons that allow students to be creative and expressive.

How does this work together for our good?

Teacher/Parent / Students:

· Students will be assessed upon entrance in Reading and Math

· The results will be used to determine students areas of strengths and weaknesses

· Parents, teachers and administrator will develop an individual plan that will meet the child’s academic needs.

· Parent-teacher conferences will be held once a month to discuss students progress or concerns

Teacher/Community Members/Students:

· Work together to develop hands-on activities to reinforce lessons taught in the classroom.

· Create meaningful projects for the students to complete to express understanding of content area.

· Invite guest speakers to the class to heighten the students awareness of team building and self-control.

Administrators/ Teachers/Students:

· Work together as a team encouraging one another spiritually, academically and socially.

· Semi- annual activities that involve family fun nights on and off site.
