Would my child benefit from attending a private school?

Children have many different strengths and weaknesses as well as many different educational needs. And every family has different priorities for their child’s learning. Suitably there are a variety of private schools with a wide spectrum of programs, curricula, teaching methods, etc.

With the unique needs of children and the wide variety of options, the process of searching and choosing a new school can be an overwhelming one. Thus, it is important to determine first your priorities for your child so that you have a clear strategy in finding an appropriate school that will meet your child’s needs.

 

Is this a newly established school?

No, this is our third school year in operation, TAS has provided services that range from after school, tutoring, one on one instruction and other individualized programs since 2000.

 

Are staff members certified?

Yes, all teachers are trained and certified.

 

Will my child have to take the End of Grade test?

No, that is one of the advantages of private school. There are no standardized testing however, the students are given a annual assessment to determine academic growth.

 

Is this a faith based program?

Yes, the program is faith based and although we do not offer a religious class we do teach biblical principles.

 

Are there scholarships available?

Yes, we have some partial scholarships available.

 

What are the discipline policies?

The discipline policy is outlined in the parent handbook. As a staff we are trained to handle most behaviors however, if the behavior begins to impede the education of the student then TAS staff members will assist the family with an alternative placement.
